Nearly all of the movement is aware that issues on the net exist, but differ in their perceptions of what the problems really are. Many users would express a want to return to an "previous web" that didn't exist, typically with beliefs that the outdated web was inherently less bigoted, much less consumerist, and fewer restrictive. At the social level, there is an experience of "toxicity" - the actions of individuals which negatively impact collective psychological effectively-being - or social exclusion from the core web due to the tendency of its communities to form echo chambers and avoid variety of opinion. On the systemic degree, there may be an experience of systemic repression that displays the ability buildings on the foundational degree of society. What isn't clear is whether this response is a longing for the old net and its aesthetics or if it reflects a deeper desire for change that is partially mirrored by the optimistic aspects of the outdated net. However, the reasons given for the perceived issues comprise some reality to them in a deeper analysis. However, a precise history is tough because the modern idea of being transgender, and gender on the whole, did not develop till the mid-1900s.
