How can I check to see if my elderly mom’s caregiver has a valid California drivers license?

If they were hired through an agency, you can check with that agency because their DL should be on file. If not, you can require them to bring you a copy of their driving record. If the job requires driving your mother to appointments then you can legally ask for a copy of the driving record. If it doesn’t, then an DL can’t be required for the job.

I’d try asking for a copy (both sides) of the caregiver’s license. Then call the automobile insurance company if the caregiver is driving your mom’s vehicle and see if they can check it out.
